The Youth Leaders' Peace Dialogue was successfully held in Beijing

Youth join hands to paint a peaceful future together 

On July 28, 2025,the Youth Leaders' Peace Dialogue, themed “Consensus for Peace：Voices of Global South Youth Amid Protracted and Escalating Geopolitical Conflicts”, concluded successfully in Beijing. The dialogue brought together over 200 guests from nearly 20 countries, including heads of government youth affairs departments, representatives of non-governmental friendly organizations, and experts and scholars from universities and think tanks, to jointly explore the mission and responsibility of youth in promoting world peace and development. 

Yang Wanming, president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. He emphasized that "the friendship between people is the foundation of friendship between countries, and the friendship between people starts with the youth." Yang Wanming pointed out that the youth carry the future of the world and the hope for peace. Facing global challenges, young people from all countries should learn from history, look to the future, strengthen dialogue and cooperation, and work together to promote win-win cooperation, contributing their vigorous youthful strength to addressing common human challenges and achieving global sustainable development.

Focus on the mission and share wisdom. 

Yang Dongping, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Silk Road Youth Forum, delivered a keynote speech titled "Shouldering the Mission and Responsibility of Youth and Civilian Friendship Organizations in Deepening People-to-People Connectivity and Consolidating the Public Opinion Foundation for Maintaining World Peace" at the dialogue. Focusing on the responsibility of young people along the Belt and Road countries in maintaining world peace, he shared three points of his thoughts: 

1. Persist in dialogue and exchange to promote mutual learning among civilizations: Youth non-governmental organizations should actively build platforms for dialogue between Chinese and foreign youth, deepen mutual understanding and emotional identification through various forms such as "going out and inviting in", and eliminate estrangement and prejudice.

2. Practice global initiatives and contribute youthful wisdom: Guide young people to actively pay attention to and participate in the practices advocated by the Global Development Initiative, the Global Security Initiative, and the Global Civilization Initiative, and devote themselves to solving global issues such as climate change, poverty reduction, and peace and security, becoming a vital force in promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind.

3. Deepen practical cooperation and jointly build the foundation of peace: Relying on the youth cooperation mechanism under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative, vigorously promote project matching and joint actions among young people from various countries in areas such as scientific and technological innovation, green development, and cultural exchanges, and transform the concept of peace into concrete cooperation achievements. 

Yang Dongping said that under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, Chinese youth are stepping onto the world stage with a more open and confident attitude, walking hand in hand with young people from all countries, and continuously injecting youthful vitality and peaceful strength into building a world of lasting peace and universal security.
