在来中国之前，我知道了一句著名的阿拉伯谚语，“知识虽远在中国，亦往求之”。这更让我想知道，中国有什么特别之处？这就是我的故事开始的地方。

Before my journey to China, I came across this famous Arabic proverb, "Seek knowledge, even if you have to go as far as China," which made me wonder, what is so special about China? This is where my story begins.

我叫辛提亚·安布尔，来自印度尼西亚。2013年，我充满了期待和对知识的渴望来到中国。作为隔海相望的邻国，印度尼西亚与中华人民共和国有着独特的关系。

My name is Sintia Amber, and I am from Indonesia. I first came to China in 2013 with just a bag of courage and a hunger for knowledge. As neighbors across the sea, Indonesia enjoys a unique relationship with the People's Republic of China. 

纵观印度尼西亚的历史，各种外国血统的族群在几次移民浪潮中遍布印度尼西亚各地，通常在城市地区定居，很少在农村地区定居。15世纪，中国人开始向印度尼西亚移民，18世纪和19世纪掀起了一波又一波的移民潮。他们是印度尼西亚最重要的外籍少数民族。在这段深厚的历史中，中国人在印尼的存在意义深远。

Throughout Indonesian history, various ethnic groups of foreign origin spread throughout Indonesia in several migration waves and usually established themselves in the urban areas, seldom settling in rural parts of the country. Chinese people began migrating to Indonesia in the 15th century, with significant waves in the 18th and 19th centuries. They are the most significant ethnic minority of foreign origin in Indonesia.  Through this deep history, the Chinese presence in Indonesia is quite significant and profound. 

在首都医科大学学习的第一年里，我就完全相信中国是一片充满可能性的土地。我一直都在探索，中国为我们的探索铺平了道路，我在探索中看到了很多真实的东西，也提升了我在许多方面的探索能力。包括医学、教育、音乐、商业、文学等领域。中国为我们提供了建立社交和职业网络的平台，使我得到不断的成长。通过这些经历，我很幸运地从这些专家、老师和学者的人身上学到了很多的东西。他们对自己的技艺认真坚守，他们有很好的职业道德，他们非常关注细节，一丝不苟，他们特别注意不断创新，特别是他们在帮助提升他人中获得快乐的精神，给我留下了非常深刻的印象。我特别幸运地与他们在一起学习和工作，让我充分发挥我的潜力，让实现从小到大的变革。最重要的是，我能和他们一起做一些真正重要的事情。在中国，我明白了我的人生目标是无限的。

During my first year at Capital Medical University, Beijing, I was entirely convinced that China is the land of possibilities. Since I have always been the type to explore, China paved my journey to discover my truth and capabilities in many ways. Including the medical field, education, music, business, literature, and so on. China provided me with the platform to build my social and professional network so that I can grow continuously. Through these experiences, I was fortunate to learn many things from these experts, teachers, and scholars. They pay great attention to detail and are meticulous, and they pay special attention to continuous innovation, especially the joy they find in helping others improve, which left a deep impression on me. I was very lucky to experience studying and working side by side with them, making the most of our potentials for small to large scale change. Most importantly, I got to have fun with them doing things that truly mattered. In China, I got to learn that there are no limits on what I can achieve with my life.

2019年，我与葡萄牙前欧洲事务部长布鲁诺·马凯斯（Bruno Macaes）进行了小组讨论。他发表了一本关于“一带一路”的书，提出中国和印度尼西亚旨在加强他们的教育伙伴关系，实际上中国和印度尼西亚的教育合作早已开始，特别是在非正式的汉语培训中。因此，印尼人学习汉语的人数显著增加。中国与印尼合作伙伴关系还促进了两国青年之间的交流和活动，以传播和发扬中华文化。

In 2019, I shared a panel discussion with Bruno Macaes, a former Portuguese European Affairs Minister. He published a book on the “Belt and Road Initiative,” stating that China and Indonesia aimed to strengthen their educational partnership. The partnership between China and Indonesia began at an early stage, particularly in nonformal Chinese language training. Hence learning the Chinese language has been growing significantly among Indonesians. The Indo-China partnerships also promote exchanges and activities to showcase the Chinese culture among the youth of both countries.

作为印尼教育部门的一名成员，我见证了印尼学生在中国学习的机会稳步增长，使中国成为印尼人的最重要的教育目的地之一。科学合作也在不断增加。例如，两国启动了许多联合实验室，包括生物技术和高温气冷堆（HTGR）、印尼-中国转让技术中心（ICTTC）和科学交流项目。

As a member of the Indonesian education sector, I have witnessed several opportunities offered to Indonesian students to pursue their studies in China steadily grow, making China one of the top education destinations for Indonesians. Scientific cooperation is also on the steady rise. For instance, the two countries have initiated many joint laboratories, including Biotechnology and High-Temperature Gas-cooled Reactor (HTGR), the Indonesia China Transfer Technology Center (ICTTC), and Scientific Exchange Programs.

“一带一路”倡议为中国与印尼青年的交流、合作、成长提供了非常重要的机遇和广阔前景，中国青年和印度尼西亚青年应就基础设施互联互通、贸易、创业发展、金融一体化和青年与文化交流以及许多其他社会政治利益交流想法、愿景、战略，制定实实在在的行动计划。

The “Belt and Road Initiative” provides important opportunities and broad prospects for exchanges, cooperation, and growth between Chinese and Indonesian youth. Chinese youth and Indonesian should exchange ideas, visions, strategies, and solid action plans regarding the connectivity of facilities, trade, entrepreneurship development, financial integration and connectivity of youth and cultural exchanges, and many other socio-political benefits. 

总之，中国青年和印尼青年有必要相互学习，发挥各自的能力，增进相互了解，携手共创美好未来。因为深入交流、互相学习可以丰富和提升他们宝贵的技能，例如学习和决策能力、观察和创新能力、解决问题的能力，积极塑造良好的性格和思维，成为未来卓越的领导者。

To conclude, both Chinese youth and Indonesian youth must learn from each other and make full use of their abilities,  enhance mutual understanding, and collaborate for a better future. Because in-depth communication and mutual learning can enrich and improve their valuable skills, such as learning and decision-making ability, observation and innovation ability, problem-solving ability, and actively shape good personality and thinking, so as to become outstanding leaders in the future.
