我2015年从美丽的佛得角来到中国留学。经过几年的努力，我已从北京语言大学毕业，取得了国际事务和国际关系学士学位。作为一名来自非洲的应届毕业生，我感到非常幸运的是，能够赶上了中国共产党成立一百周年的日子，听到了习近平总书记的重要讲话。

Hailing from the beautiful nation of Cabo Verde, I first came to China to study in 2015. After several years of hard work and determination, I successfully graduated from Beijing Language and Culture University with a bachelor's degree in International Affairs and Relations. As a graduating student from Africa, I feel fortunate to have witnessed the Communist Party of China's 100th founding anniversary and hear President Xi Jinping's important speech.

中国在减贫和提高人民健康水平方面无疑是世界领先者，让十四亿多中国人民摆脱了贫困，迈上了全面小康，这是全人类的伟大奇迹。我相信世界很多国家都可以从中国学到很多东西。

China is undoubtedly the world leader in reducing poverty and improving people's health. It has lifted more than 1.4 billion Chinese people out of poverty and embarked on an all-around well-off society. This achievement is a great miracle for all humanity. I believe many countries in the world can learn a lot from China.

100年来，中国共产党从无到有，以自己的力量改变了中国，给中国人民带来了幸福生活。作为一名来自发展中国家、现居中国的留学生，我相信像佛得角这样的国家可以向中国学习，借鉴中国的发展经验。

Over the past 100 years, the Communist Party of China has changed China from the very foundation, bringing a happy life to all Chinese people. As an international student from a developing country and now living in China, I believe that countries like Cabo Verde can learn from China and learn from China's development experience. 

中国取得今天这样的成就，不是偶然的。最根本的一条是有中国共产党的坚强领导，始终以人民为中心，坚持为民族谋复兴、为人民谋幸福而奋斗的结果。我认为，中国共产党最重要的成功经验就是自力更生。也就是说，中国的经济发展主要依靠的是人民的力量，依靠自己的能力发展壮大。

It is no accident that China has made such achievements today. The most fundamental one is the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, consistently placing the people at the center and adhering to striving for the rejuvenation of the nation and the people's happiness. I think the essential ingredient for the Communist Party of China's success is self-reliance. In other words, China's economic development mainly depends on the strength of the people and their ability. 

今年是佛得角共和国和中华人民共和国建交45周年。那是1976年4月25日，佛得角共和国独立不到一年。但事实上，两国之间的合作和友谊源远流长，早在我们争取自由斗争的时候就开始了，中国共产党领导的民族独立、人民解放的斗争给了佛得角巨大的鼓舞。尽管从地理位置上说，佛得角和中国相隔数千英里，但两国一直保持着友谊与合作。

This year marks the 45th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between the Republic of Cabo Verde and the People's Republic of China. It was April 25th, 1976, less than a year after the independence of the Republic of Cabo Verde. However, the cooperation and friendship between the two countries originated from a long history. It began as early as our nation's struggle for freedom. Cabo Verde was greatly encouraged by the struggle for national independence and people's liberation led by the Communist Party of China. Although Cabo Verde and China are thousands of miles apart geographically, the two countries have always maintained friendship and cooperation.

近些年来，佛得角与中国的文化交流尤为突出。在佛得角普拉亚建立的孔子学院和佛得角中国友好协会就是很好的佐证。这两项合作，不仅有助于两国文化交流，还有推动了两国教育领域的合作。在合作交往中，中文对佛得角的学生越来越有吸引力，数据表明，有1000多名学生在卡波佛得角各个教育机构学习，中文已经作为选修课在一些高中实施。

In recent years, cultural exchanges between Cabo Verde and China have been particularly prominent. The Confucius Institutes established in Praia, Cabo Verde, and the Cabo Verde China Friendship Association are good examples. These two partnerships not only contribute to cultural exchanges between the two countries but also promote cooperation in the field of education. In cooperation and communication, Chinese is becoming more and more attractive to Cabo Verdian students. The data show that more than 1000 Cabo Verdian students study Chinese in various educational institutions in Cabo Verde; Chinese has also been implemented as an elective course in some high schools. 

除了在中国的1000多名学生认真学说中文外，还有300多名和我一样选择来中国接受高等教育的青年。说实在的，能够亲身体验中国文化，了解真正的中国和中国人民是一种荣幸。同时，我们在中国不仅让中国人更多地了解佛得角及其文化，也让许多其他国家的人了解佛得角。我们留学生已经成为自己国家和中国以及世界其他国家之间交流的重要力量。

我相信，各国青年只要认真了解彼此的文化，学习和尊重彼此的文化，就能实现习近平总书记所说的"民心相通"，达到文明互鉴，真正联系在一起。

In addition to more than 1000 Cabo Verdian students who learn Chinese, more than 300 young people from Cabo Verde choose to come to China for higher education like me. It is an honor to experience Chinese culture and understand the real China and the Chinese people. At the same time, we in China not only let the Chinese people know more about Cabo Verde and its culture but also let people in many other countries know about Cabo Verde. Our international students have become a vital force for exchanges between our country, China, and the rest of the world.

As long as there is mutual respect and understanding of each other's culture, we will realize the "common aspiration of the people," as stated by President Xi Jinping.

青年是未来的领导者。所以青年要承担起"民心相通"的责任，从青年做起，从青年时期就培养自己的责任感和世界眼光，才能在未来发挥自己的作用。

Young people are the leaders of the future. Therefore, young people should assume the responsibility of "connecting the hearts of the people." We must start with the youth, cultivating a person's sense of responsibility and world vision to play a vital role in their future. 

共建"一带一路"倡议近8年的实践证明，有助于促进沿线国家和地区经济合作，有助于促进青年之间的相互交流和学习，有助于促进世界和平。对此，"一带一路"沿线各国青年无疑将会在其中发挥关键作用。

The practice of building one belt, one road initiative in the past eight years has proved that it helps promote economic cooperation between countries and regions along the border. It helps to promote mutual exchange and learning among young people and contributes to world peace. In this regard, one belt, one road, will undoubtedly play a vital role with all youth globally. 

青年人是促进各个国家加强友好关系的关键。处在学习阶段的青年人很容易接受新事物，打破沟通交流的障碍。因此，要发挥各国青年的积极作用，为构建人类命运共同体，贡献青春力量。

Young people are the key to promoting friendly relations among countries. Young people in the learning stage of life are more open to accepting new things and breaking communication barriers. Therefore, we should acknowledge the positive role of the youth in all countries. And their contribution to the construction of a community with a shared future for humanity.
