来自美丽的埃塞俄比亚,我叫梅尔沙·贝姆内特·旺迪马格涅胡。我来到北京留学已经两年了。我第一次了解中国是在我自己的国家。当时，中国正在帮助埃塞俄比亚建立各种基础设施，包括工业、环形道路、灌溉和水电大坝等。这让我对中国有了深切的好感，也知道了共建"一带一路"的意义。所以，我来到北京学习，攻读自动化研究生学业。

Hailing from the beautiful nation of Ethiopia, my name is Mersha Bemnet Wondimagegnehu. Currently, I have been studying in Beijing for the past two years. I first learned about China while residing in my country. At that time, China was helping Ethiopia build various infrastructures, including industry, ring roads, irrigation, and hydropower dams under the one belt, one road initiative. Due to this close relation, I decided to pursue my graduate studies in Automation in Beijing, China.

在来中国的最初几周我似乎很不适应，中国的新东西非常多，就连日常生活，都需要学习不少新东西，比如，如何使用微信、支付宝、淘宝、京东等。这些东西让我感到惊奇，也产生了极大兴趣。所以几周过后，我就逐渐适应了在中国的新生活。

The first few weeks in China were challenging. There were many new things to learn, such as learning how to use WeChat, Alipay, Taobao, Jingdong, etc. These things surprised me and peaked my interest even more about China. However, after a few weeks, I gradually adapted to my new life.

一旦适应了我在中国的新生活，中国人的文化、习俗、食物更加吸引我了。尤其是这些独特的食物给我留下了深刻的印象。不仅因为味道，而且因为丰富的历史。中国有很多我喜欢的美食，早餐吃豆腐脑是我最喜欢的事情之一。我的一个独特的食物体验是当我的自动化教授、北京工业大学自动化学院的马红彬教授邀请我和我的中国同学一起庆祝中国新年的时候。那是一次非常难忘的经历。这些美食包含着丰富的文化，让我感到中华文化的博大精深和源远流长。这是我越来越喜欢中国美食的重要原因。

Once adapting to my new life in China, the culture, customs, foods of the Chinese people drew me in even further. The unique foods, in particular, left a lasting impression on me. Not only because of the taste but because of the rich history. There are many delicious foods I like in China. Eating bean curd for breakfast is one of my favorite things. One of my unique food experiences here was receiving an invitation from my professor, Professor Ma Hongbin of the Beijing University of Technology School of Automation, to celebrate the Chinese New Year with my Chinese classmates. It was a very memorable experience. These delicacies contain a rich culture, which allowed me to realize the depth of Chinese culture. This experience is an important reason why I continue to appreciate Chinese food.

除了食物，我也感谢我的中国教授以及他们对我在北京生活的影响。他们对我的能力和自信表示肯定，并关心我的健康。比如：我的老师马宏斌老师让我成为一名独立的研究员。还有郑老师与倪老师，以及来自国际学生中心的燕婷老师，他们都非常富有同情心和爱心。是他们帮助我逐渐学会融入中国文化，并融入了中国人民的生活。我在中华文化中感到幸福，快乐，特别有意思。

Aside from food, I also appreciate my Chinese professors and their impact on my life here in Beijing. They continue to display confidence in my abilities and care for my wellbeing. For example, Mr. Ma Hongbin entrusted me with the role of "independent researcher," while my other teachers Zheng Ye and teacher Niu Yan Ting from the international student center show me constant care. They are very compassionate and loving. They helped me gradually learn to integrate into the Chinese culture and the life of the Chinese people. It continues to fill me with joy to learn more about this country's culture.

当我们进入一个新时代，我们能看到中国正与一些非洲国家，特别是埃塞俄比亚开展"一带一路"合作。在"尊重、团结、平等、互利"的基础上，中埃两国关系，以及中国和其他国家的关系正在发生深刻变化，越来越好。比如在人文和教育方面，中埃在2020年9月20日与北京外国语大学非洲学院开设了阿姆哈拉语的一个本科课程，正式启动埃塞俄比亚的官方语言教学。根据该计划，中国学生在经过四年的学习后，将获得阿姆哈拉语学士学位。2021年4月28日，埃塞俄比亚鲁班研讨会在线启动。在天津，同时举行的技术和教育大学（TUET）与埃塞俄比亚技术大学（ETU）使用因特网云技术的研讨会，以人工智能为重点，围绕"制造技术、电子与通信技术、信息技术电气和控制技术"进行探讨。为埃塞俄比亚"成为"2025年非洲制造中心"这个目标献计献策。2021年6月26日埃塞俄比亚还与中国在苏鲁塔镇合作开设了一个"领导力发展培训中心"，为非洲培训人才。开幕式由埃塞俄比亚总理阿比·艾哈迈德和中国驻埃塞俄比亚大使赵志远主持。

As we enter a new era, we can see China continue to develop one belt, one road cooperation with many African countries, especially Ethiopia. Based on "respect, unity, equality, and mutual benefit," the relations between China and Ethiopia and between China and other countries are undergoing profound changes and gradually improving. For example, in terms of humanities and education, on September 20th, 2020, China and Ethiopia established an undergraduate course in Amharic at the Beijing Foreign Studies University, School of African Studies, officially launching Ethiopia's official language study. According to the program, Chinese students will receive a bachelor's degree in Amharic after four years. On April 28th, 2021, the Luban seminar in Ethiopia was launched online.

Additionally, in Tianjin on the same date, the workshop on using internet video conference technology was held by TUET (Tianjin University of Technology and Education) and ETU (Ethiopian Technical University). This workshop focused on artificial intelligence, specifically "manufacturing technology, electronics and communication technology, information technology, electrical and control technology." This continues to contribute to Ethiopia's goal of "becoming an African manufacturing center by 2025". On June 26th, 2021, Ethiopia also cooperated with China to establish "the African Leadership Excellence Academy" in Suluta town. The ceremony was inaugurated by the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, and current Chinese Ambassador to Ethiopia Ambassador Zhao Zhiyuan.

在中国，我看到了埃塞俄比亚和中国在教育和制造业方面建立起伙伴关系。中国最好的大学开展和埃塞俄比亚大学的合作。我在这里看到了更多的研究项目和创业合作机会，还看到了埃塞俄比亚和中国年轻人之间的友好交往和交流。真是令人鼓舞。我希望未来能有更多的科研项目合作和创业伙伴关系。

I have seen Ethiopia and China establish a partnership in education and manufacturing in China, resulting in the best universities in China cooperating with Ethiopian universities. Here, I see possibilities for more research projects and entrepreneurial partnerships, in addition to developing friendly exchanges between young people in Ethiopia and China. It's very encouraging. I hope to see more cooperation in research projects and entrepreneurial partnerships in the future.

中国青年和埃塞俄比亚青年都有很多值得相互学习的东西，通过交流合作，将促进相互的学习，共同提高，有更好的面对未来的能力。

在共建"一带一路"倡议的推动下，埃塞俄比亚取得了巨大的发展，特别是在吉布提港口和铁路项目建设方面，令人振奋。埃塞俄比亚已在撒哈拉以南的亚的斯亚贝巴建立起第一个现代轻轨系统，以及连接起我们这个内陆国家与亚丁湾和红海的海上贸易路线的亚的斯吉布提铁路。埃塞俄比亚获得了共建"一带一路"的好处，我们更加认识到"一带一路"是一条共同发展、共同繁荣之路。

Both Chinese youth and Ethiopian youth have a lot to learn from each other. Through exchanges and cooperation, they can promote mutual learning and common improvement, having a better ability to face the future.

With the promotion of the one belt, one road initiative, Ethiopia has made significant progress, especially in the construction of ports and railway projects in Djibouti. Ethiopia has established the first modern light rail system in Sub-Saharan Africa in Addis Ababa and the Addis Ababa Djibouti railway, which connects our landlocked country with the maritime trade routes of the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea. Ethiopia has benefited from the Belt and Road Initiative greatly. We are more aware that the Belt and Road initiative is a road to joint development and prosperity.

几十年来中埃相互合作取得的这些进步，证明中埃伙伴关系有着光明的未来，"一带一路"合作有着光明的未来。而这个未来是属于青年的。

The progress in bilateral cooperation over the past decades proves that the China-Ethiopia partnership has a bright future. Partnerships under "The Belt and Road Initiative" have a bright future, and that future belongs to the youth.
